Description

Air Force Research Laboratory, Human Effectiveness Directorate/Crew Systems Interface Division (AFRL/HECB) solicits research proposals for Advanced Audio Displays for Security Forces. The purpose of the acquisition is to demonstrate technologies capable of minimizing threat interception times by ground based security forces through advanced acoustic displays. Three technology areas need to be addressed: 1. Advanced audio user interface for dismounted soldiers including: 3-D audio, speech recognition, and continuous position information (GPS or equivalent). 2. Remote, solid-state, panoramic audio/video sensor for detection of foot traffic, munitions firing and vehicle traffic; and 3. Multimedia interface for command to present the remote audio and video data, present the dismounted soldier locations and communicate with the dismounted soldiers.
