Description

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 2, intends to issue a sole source order to ThermoElemental, 27 Forge Parkway, Franklin, MA for a comprehensive service agreement for the period October 1, 2001 -- September 30, 2002. The instruments possess hardware design and technical data proprietary to ThermoElemental. This acquisition shall be conducted under FAR Part 12 for commercial services. This notice consitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 811219. The instruments to be serviced under this agreement consist of one each of: Thermo Jarrell Ash 61 ICP, Serial #80783; Thermo Jarrell Ash Trace ICP, Serial #414590 and VG Elemental Plasmaquad 3 ICP-MS, Serial #132, which are located at the EPA's Edison, NJ facility. Interested parties may respond to this requirement by providing documentation that demonstrates that your firm possesses data rights authorization, historical access to replace parts and successful performance in servicing like instruments of the same make and model number. The information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the EPA not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the EPA. As this action is being conducted as an acquisition of a commercial item, pursuant to FAR 5.203(2), award may be made after 25 days of publication of this notice.
