- Description
- This announcement is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation. The solicitation document, incorporated provisions, and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) has 12 light tables located in Hangar #4 at Hickam AFB that need to be crated and shipped to Washingon DC. Following is a breakdown of the number of crates required to be constructed IAW drawings, which can be provided upon request. One crate for each of 12 light tables; 3 crates for stage glass; and 1 to 2 crates for film drive motors/monitors/objecive lens; for a total of 16 to 17 total crates. Normally the scopes are packed within the light table crates. However, they may be broken out into separate smaller crates with foam injection packing material. This option would add another 12 smaller crates to the total. The light tables have been prepared for shipment but require some additional disassembly as follows: Removal of 1) optics package; 2) light table stage; and 3) four (4) castors. This job will require the use of a forklift (not supplied by the Government) for lifting the light tables to remove the castors and placing them into the crates. A local point of contact, Joel Malony, senior NIMA representative, can be contacted at 808-477-7293 for further technical information. Responsible sources that are interested in this procurement may respond by providing clear and convincing information that identifies their capability. Offerors are to fax proposals to the National Imagery & Mapping Agency to the attention of Linda Bonham at (301) 227-7822 by 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time within 3 calendar days of the publication in the CBD.=20
