Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB)for Rehabilitation and Modification of the Research Combustion Laboratory Cell No. 31, Building No. 35-10. The Contractor shall provide construction services to include labor, materials, and equipment for the rehabilitation and modification of the Research Combustion Laboratory, Cell No. 31, Building No. 35-10, NASA Glenn Research Laboratory. The work shall include the installation of gaseous nitrogen, helium, oxygen, and hydrogen systems, liquid oxygen and hydrogen systems, and liquid rocket propellent systems. Electrical work shall include wiring of process instrumentation and programmable logic controller (PLC) wiring. The period of performance is estimated at 210 calendar days from the issuance of Notice to Proceed. The Small Business Size Standard is the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code number 235990 for this procurement. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the agency. A FIXED PRICE CONTRACT is contemplated. The Construction estimate is between $500,000. and $1,000,000. Solicitation forms will be made available as soon as an opening date is established. Options may be part of the Construction package for additional work. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 235990 and $11.5, respectively. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from a Blue Printing Company to be inedtified in the IFB. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
