Description

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a sole source purchase order to Axon Instruments, Inc., Union City, CA, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the purchase of the following: Axopatch 200B (1 each), Axoclamp 2B (1 each), Digidata 1322A (2 each), Pclamp 8 (2 each), and Cyberamp 320 (2 each). This system includes three recording configurations in a single headstage (one patch and two whole cell ranges with capacitance compensation ranges of 100 PF and 1000 PF), increased voltage and current command ranges (TO +- IV) for electrochemical measurements, built-in capacitance dithering capability for capacitance measurements, and addition of series resistance compensation. The open circuit (amplifier) noise in patch-mode is reduced to extremely low levels. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 5 days of closing date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with the Axon Instruments. The NAICS Code/Size is 339111/500EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.*****
