Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Myers Vacuum Repair Services, Inc., of Kittanning, PA, for a Refurbished High Vacuum CVC Thin-Film Evaporation System, to be used at the NIST Semiconductor Electronics Division. This system will be used in conjunction with the Myers-supplied vacuum gauging equipment and engineering processes, as are currently employed in NIST's existing system, making it possible to interchange parts between systems. Therefore, Myers Vacuum Repair Services, Inc. is the only vendor able to provide a system that meets NIST's needs.*****The system shall include the following: CTI-8 Cryopump with 1500 L/Sec air speed pump with compressor; dry mechanical pump with a minimum of 13 cfm; stainless steel gate valve stainless steel; electro-mechanical chamber lift; 18" diameter x 30" high Pyrex belljar; baseplate with feedthrus: 2 ferrofluidic rotary seals (one for shutter, one for substrate), dual hole feedthru for LN2, octal electrical signal pin feedthru; quartz crystal rate monitor with water cooled sensor and feedthru; one (1) 2 KVA evaporation power supply with switching to four (4) sources: includes SCR power control, current display and control knob adjustment; cold cathode gauge; Myers Vacuum AVC-485, Automatic valve controller with rugged 034 thermistor gauge tubes; 208 volt, 3 phase, 60 hertz; twelve (12) month warranty on parts and labor; three (3) days installation supervision and training by Myers Vacuum service engineer, on site at NIST, Gaithersburg, MD; ability to provide on site service and parts, as required.*****Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within ten (10) weeks or less from receipt of purchase order (ARO).*****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333912, and the size standard is 500 Employees.*****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by September 10, 2001 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.=20
