Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for free-flight, single-envelope, non-vented, freely-expanding aerological sounding balloons for the National Weather Service (NWS) upper air network. Solicitation 51-DGNW-2-90009 will be issued on or about September 15, 2001 and will close on or about October 31, 2001. Aerological sounding balloon samples will be required at the time that an offer is made in response to the solicitation. The Government may make multiple awards from this solicitation if beneficial to the Government. The envisioned contract(s) will be made on an indefinite-quantity basis and will be for an ordering period of approximately 15 months with one option period of approximately 15-month duration. The estimated quantity of aerological sounding balloons to be acquired for the base period is approximately 82,000. The estimated quantity of aerological sounding balloons to be acquired for the option period is approximately 82,000.
