Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to procure services of a vendor to conduct research to evaluate the feasibility of a large, prospective cohort study of older drivers. This includes estimation of sample sizes needed, description of information (variables) to collect, estimation of study period required, identification of potential sources of older driver cohorts, identification of potential sources of data (motor vehicle violations, citations crashes and injuries; functional ability, medications, and health status), estimation of the best age to begin enrollment in the study (before driving cessation has occurred), and estimation of the cost of the cohort study. Minimum Vendor Qualifications: A. Technical and epidemiological experience in public health and injury prevention and control; B. Knowledge and experience in conducting research in the area of motor vehicle safety; C. Experience in synthesizing the scientific literature, preparing study protocols, estimating the costs of scientific research studies, and in preparing necessary reports and documentation.
