Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plans to contract with Mr. Edgar G. Erber, 128 Lee Drive, Hillsmere Shores, Annapolis, MD 21403, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). He will work with the NIST Precision Engineering Division to provide professional technical services in the area of complex form artifacts, primarily threaded gages using a Coordinate Measuring Machine and other specialized measuring instruments. In addition, he will review existing NIST measurement practices and assist in revision of current measurement standards with regard to how they should be implemented in measurement procedures. Mr. Erber has a unique collection of knowledge and skills in these areas, having more than twenty years of experience in the area of thread wire measurements and in particular, first-hand experience with the history of these measurements at NIST. The period of performance will be for one year from date of contract award, with an option for one additional one-year option period. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all responses received by the date identified above. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available.=20
