Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a FF RANGE ANTENNA POSITIONER SYSTEM. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Microwave Instrumentation Technologies ONLY. A Microwave Instrumentation System is the only system compatible with the existing interface to the current NASA Glenn Positioner, which was purchased from Scientific Atlanta now owned by Microwave Instrumentation. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Organizations that believe that they are capable of performing the described work may submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on September 17, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. If the government decides that this work is to be competed, a competitive announcement and accompanying solicitation (or combination) will be issued at that time. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
