Description
The Portland VA Medical Center (PVAMC) located at 3710 SW U.S. Veterans Hospital Road, Portland, Oregon, wishes to award firm-fixed price indefinite-quantity contracts (up to three contracts may be awarded) for the services of Long Term Temporary Nurses (over 13 weeks). (RN's, LPN's, and CNA's) Contractor staff will be used to cover for vacant nursing positions during the recruitment process of permanent staff, or to fill gaps resulting from sick leave or vacation leave that VA is unable to cover with current staff. Contract Nurses will perform all duties normally assigned permanent VA employees and must have a current, valid and unencumbered license/certification in a State, Territory of Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. The duration of individual requests for service shall be 13 weeks or longer. Services of contract staff will be scheduled on an as needed basis by the Contracting Officer's technical representative of any nursing unit. Contract staff will be asked to provide support in any of the of two Divisions 3710 SW U.S. Veterans Hospital Road, Portland; 1601 East 4th Plain, Vancouver, Washington or as otherwise determined by the Contracting Officer or Contracting Officer's representative. PVAMC currently has a need for coverage of all shifts and all days. Evaluation criteria are described in the solicitation. It is expected that the contract offer will be made during the week of October 29th, 2001. Orders will be placed on an as needed basis starting December 1, 2001. Contract period is for a base year from 12/1/01 until 11/30/02, with four option years. A commercial item request for quotation will be issued on or about September 7, 2001. Written requests may be submitted via facsimile to (503) 402-2914 or mailed to the address shown above to the attention of Mr. Kevin Kelly (P4CONT-KK). No telephone requests will be accepted. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered. Technical Proposals and a separate cost proposal will be due by 4 p.m. on October 12, 2000. This is a negotiated procurement; there will be no public bid opening.
