Description

Notice of intent to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to negotiate and award a sole source firm fixed-price purchase order under the auspices of FAR Part 13, to Scientech Inc., Gaithersbur g, MD for delivery and installation of additional electronic security system equipment to supplement the existing system. The required delivery and performance date is 30 days after receipt of order. Scientech Inc. designed the DTRA system, installed the initial system components, and provide continued maintenance of the system. The current system is being provided under a lease agreement for temporary DTRA facilities. The services to be provided via this action are considered a logical follow-on requir ement to Scientech, Inc. Based on the aforementioned information, DTRA believes that Scientech, Inc. is the only available source to provide the requisite support. This is not a Request for Competitive Quotations. Interested parties should submit, in wr iting, clear and convincing evidence of their qualifications and/or capabilities to provide the supplies and services to the DTRA point of contact no later than Noon, Sep 24, 2001. Such qualifications and/or capabilities will be used solely for the purpos e of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government to not conduct this effort as a full and open competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discreti on of the Government. All inquiries must be submitted in writing to the address or facsimile number stated herein and to the attention of Mr. David E. Miller, Contracting Officer.
