Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the District of Columbia Public Schools proposes to issue a Request for Quotations to be issued as a commercial item acquisition to rent temporary boilers at four area DC schools for the base year of 12 months with the option to extend an additional 12 months. It is known at this time that a positive temporary heat requirement exists for Phelps VHS, Washington, DC. The other three schools listed are a possibility. The Government reserves the right to award by item, combination of items, or in the aggregate of all items, whichever is considered the most advantageous to the Government. Schedule for Start Up: For the purposes of this requirement, the heating season shall be from October 01, 2001 through April 30, 2002. The Contractor shall meet milestones dates detailed in the following paragraph "Schedule for Start Up", and provide heating beginning October 15, without interruption until the end of the contract period of performance. The Contracting Officer shall make the determination whether options shall be exercised for extending services for additional heating seasons. September 21, 2001 -- Complete installation of temporary boilers. Perform hook-up, start-up tests, and inspections of temporary boilers and central heating plant equipment.  October 1, 2001 -- Complete all additional work on boiler plant equipment. Have required operating permit posted. Be ready to provide heat if weather creates a necessity.  October 15, 2001 -- Begin to provide heat. The Request for Quotations shall be available on the Corps website to register and download at https//ebs.usace.army.mil o/a 13 September 2001. Quotations are due at 2:00 P.M. EST 18 September 2001. See numbered Note 1.
