Description

1. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for purchase of about 3000 to 4500 tons of quartzite or granite stone, specific gravity 2.65 to 3.00 of the size 100 to 1000 pounds. Stone must be transported to and unloaded at the Corps of Engineers staging area dock in Milwaukee, WS. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested for the purchase of about 4500 tons of quartzite or granite and a written solicitation will not be issued. Dolomite, limestone or any other type of stone material will not be accepted for this solicitation. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small businesses under SIC code 1411. Questions regarding this procurement must be submitted in writing no later than 9/21/01. Written quotations, price per ton of quartzite or granite stone are due by 10 A.M. Central Daylight Time on 9/24/01. Selection and award will be made to the firm with the lowest quote who can meet Corps of Engineers delivery requirements. Delivery must be made within 5 days of award notice to proceed. No award can be made to a contractor who is not registered in the Central Contractors Registration.
