Description
Information is sought on potential sources and contractor capabilities for the purpose of providing Accompanist and/or Choir Director Services for 9:30 am Protestant Worship Service and Accompanist and Choir Director Services for 12:30pm Gospel Worship Services at Fort Drum, NY 13602. Choir Director Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: (1) Have a basic knowledge of a broad spectrum of Protestant or Gospel hymnology and songs to include a working knowledge of specific liturgy and worship services. (2) Have a basic ability to play piano or organ in order to play musical notes to give correct musical pitches for singing, and be able to sight-read. (3) Will be required to audition for the Pastor or his representative, at the pastor s discretion. Choir Director Duties: (1) Will provide organizational direction for the specific Choir. (2) Will plan for, select and direct special choir presentations in song for Sunday Worship services and other special or holiday worship experiences. (3) Will trai n and direct members of the specific Choir as required by the Senior Pastor. (4) Will actively participate in the recruitment of participants for the specific Choir. (5) Choir director will record weekly services conducted on appropriate contractor invo ice. All statements of service must be verified by a chaplain who has direct knowledge of the services performed. (6) Will actively participate in all Sunday Workship Services and other service/programs involving the specific Choir. (7) Will coordinate w eekly (or as otherwise required) with the Senior Pastor and Accompanist regarding music to be used in services. (8) Will accept direction, suggestions, recommendations from the Senior Pastor and Accompanist regarding musical specials or hymns to be used. (9) Will recommend to the Senior Pastor the selection and purchase of Chapel music, supervise its use, and provide direction for cataloging and maintenance of the music library. (10) Will advise the Senior Pastor on selection of choir robes and other mu sical supplies and equipment. (11) Will select, rehearse, and direct choir in use of musical selections that cover a broad spectrum of specific worship, liturgy and hymnology. Accompanist Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: (1) Have basic knowledge of a broad spectrum of Protestant or Gospel worship style and songs. (2) Have a basic ability to sight-read music, including traditional and contemporary songs. May be require d to audition for the Pastor or his representative. Accompanist Duties: (1) Will provide musical services and/or accompaniment (organ and/or piano) for all services and programs as required. (2) Will provide musical services at all rehearsals and schedules services/programs for the choir, singers, other mu sicians or the Choir Director as required. (3) Will coordinate weekly (or as otherwise required) with the Choir Director regarding music to be used in services/programs. (4) Will accept direction, suggestions, recommendations from the Pastor and Choir Dir ector regarding musical accompaniment. (5) Will be available for all regularly scheduled services, special worship, regular rehearsals and special rehearsals.
