Description

This amendment serves to correct amendment 2 by sending it to the Commerce Business Daily. The following text is the same as Amendment #2.***The above referenced solicitation is hereby amended to respond to the question submitted: QUESTION: Will NIST accept coating on S1 -- if coating S2 is not feasible due to the internal structure interference of the lightweight substrate.***ANSWER: The aluminized coating specified for surface S2 is to clearly differentiate reflections from S2 from reflections from surface S1. If your structure does not allow reflections from surface S2 (i.e., off the 'back' surface after passing through the optic), then the coating of S2 is no longer required and may be omitted. In any case, no aluminized coating should be applied to surface S1.***The due date of quotes, Friday, September 14, 2001, remains unchanged by reason of this amendment.
