Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service, Northeast Fisheries Science Center is issuing notice of intent to negotiate a sole source procurement with Biomark to provide TX1400BE Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) implantable ISO 134.2 tag Type "Super-B Tags" with 50% extended read range in worst orientation and 25% extended read range in optimal orientation. This state-of-the-art passive induced transponder (PIT) equipment is needed in order to facilitate monitoring of Atlantic salmon in the Maine rivers, estuaries, associated nearshore waters, and hatchery facilities. The proposed acquisition will be required to work interchangeably with existing gear and shall be 100% compatible with existing equipment and software that is currently owned and used by the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 41 USC 253 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. Interested parties may identify their interest and must provide evidence of their capability to respond to the requirement by September 28, 2001. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Numbered Note 22 applies.=20
