Description

The Contractor shall produce NIJ Level III+ Floor Armor for the Super Huey Aircraft. The armor shall be capable of defeating three rounds of the following munitions at muzzle velocity within an eight-inch diameter circle: 5.56 x 45mm M193 5.56 x 45mm M855 7.62 x 39 mm Chicom Steel Core 7.62 x 39 mm Soviet Steel Core 7.62 x 51mm NATO M80 Ball The armor shall be configured in accordance the Super Huey Floor Armor Configuration, which will be made available with the solicitation. The armor kit shall not exceed 550 pounds. The kits shall adhere to all Federal Aviation Regulation, Part 23, Airworthiness Standards: Normal, Utility, Acrobatic and Commuter Category Airplanes standards for installation on aircraft, to include but not limited to vertical burn. The armor shall be resistance to saltwater, petroleum products, detergents, and bleach solutions. Installation and removal of the armor kits shall be performed by host nation personnel. Therefore, the Contractor shall provide installation instructions and any special tooling with the armoring kits.
