Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR 13 and the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The government intends to acquire on-site preventative maintenance on a sole source basis from Cortex Surveillance Automation, 4018 Patriot Dr., One Park Center, PO Box 14282, Durham, NC 27709. The contract and shall have a one year base period and a one year option period. Evaluation of the option will not obligate the Government to exercise the option. This announcement constitutes the ONLY solicitation; quotes are being requested and A SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation number RFQ N00244-01-T-1215 applies. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27 and DFARS C hange Notice 20010911. The NAICS code is 561621 and the business size standard is $9.0M. The agency need is for maintenance of the following equipment. Item 0001 Video Surveillance System, quarterly on-site preventative maintenance visits and unlimited 800 telephone support. Coverage is limited to Master Processor PN MC-RX4800-SC (1ea), Slave Processor, PN MC-RX4800-SL (1ea), File Server, PN MC-RX4800-FS (1ea), Matrix Switcher, PN MC-VS1604 (1ea), Console Workstation, PN MC-RX4800-WS (1 ea), Looping Quad Video Multiplexor, PN MC-MISC (2ea). Defective items to be replaced or repaired no later than the next business day -- following identification of failed components. Coverage does not protect against damage from lightning, fire, weather, misuse, or abuse. Location: NWS Seal Beach, CA. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items applies. Addendum to FAR 52.212-1, Paragraph (b)(5): Offers shall provide an express warranty which at a minimum shall be the same warranty terms, including offers of extended warranties, offered to the general public. Express warranties shall be included in the contract. Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items applies as well as the following addendum clauses: FAR 52.211-5, Material Requirements.
