NEW MEXICO ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT Ground Water Quality Bureau Superfund Oversight Section RFP #GWQB 2-01 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) DRILLING AND SAMPLING SERVICES AT THE NORTH RAILROAD AVENUE PLUME SUPERFUND SITE, ESPANOLA, NM. The Superfund Oversight Section of the ground Water Quality Bureau of the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to drill, install, complete, and develop monitoring wells at the North Railraod Avenue Plume Superfund site in Espanola, New Mexico. The purpose of the investigative drilling is to determine the extent and distribution of the ground water contamination at the site. A maximum of $120,000 is available for a one-year contract. Revenues for the contract are 100% from a US EPA Superfund Cooperative Agreement. Four (4) wells will be drilled to approximately 300 feet below the ground surface; soil samples will be collected every five feet and in-situ ground water samples collected at 150 feet and 250 feet of depth in each well. Drilling and sample collection of ground water must not result in cross-contamination from shallower ground water. Proposals must be recieved by Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at 4:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to respond.
