Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #0017735 , the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-27. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 421490. The Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI)has a requirement for the following Brand Name or Equal: (Brand Name-Z/I Imaging Corporation) 1EA T-AS Gyro Stabilized Camera Mount to include cable and case; 1EA T-AS Stand Alone Kit and Camera Mount Installation in Denver, CO. Performance requirements: The replacement mount should meet the minimum specifications of the current mount (Aeroflex A-28) which is designed to maintain optical axis of a camera in a vertical attitude, regardless of the position of the aircraft (within limits of "normal" flight). It must be configured with the existing system that is consisted of two Hasselband cameras and two CCTV camera. Replacement mount must allow remote positioning of the camera in azimuth to compensate for the "drift" or "crab" angle of the aircraft. It must weigh 150 pounds or less, with physical dimensions not to exceed: Height 30', Width 38"; Length 59" because it will need to fit the space vacated by the A-28. A Standard Commercial Warranty is required. FOB-Destination -- Denver, Colorado. -- The above characteristics are intended to be descriptive, but not restricted. Unless clearly marked that the offeror is quoting on an "equal" the offered item shall be considered as the brand name product referenced in this announcement. If the vendor proposed to furnish an "equal" product, then the brand name of the "equal"product, if any, shall be indicated on the Request for Quotation (RFQ). The evaluation and the determination as to the equality of the product, if not brand name, shall be the responsibility of the Government and will be based on information furnished by the offeror. The Government's purchasing activity is not responsible for locating or securing any information which is not identified in the quotation and reasonably available. To ensure sufficient information is available, the offeror must furnish as a part of the quotation- all descriptive material (such as cuts, illustrations, drawings or other information) necessary for the Government to determine whether the "equal" product meets the salient characteristics of the requirement. If the offeror proposed to modify a product so as to make it conform to the requirement, then proposed modifications shall clearly be marked with descriptive materials to show modifications. The government reserves the right to request product samples which can be tested for compatibility and provided at no additional cost. The Government will award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to this solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered.
