Description

THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN QUOTATION WILL BE ISSUED. The quotation number is RFQ-RT-01-00565 and is being issued as a Request for Quotation(RFQ). The quotation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-26. This requirement is for various satin finish aluminum planters for the new EPA facility, 109 T.W. Alexander Dr., Research Triangle Park, NC. The sizes, dimensions, and specifications are as follows: (28 each) 30"dx24"h, minimum 2.5 mm wall thickness; (8 each) 22"dx20"h, minimum 2.0 mm wall thickness; (114 each) 18"dx18"h, minimum 2.0 mm wall thickness; (56 each) 14"dx14"h minimum 2.0 mm wall thickness. The planters must be round/cylindrical, straight edge decorative planters; aluminum; satin finish; rolled and welded using seamless fusion methodology; corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. Each bidder must provide documentation, i.e., product literature sufficient to support that their planters meet the minimum specifications. This requirement will be a firm fixed price contract. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) No. 332439 applies with a size standard of 500 employees. This quotation is issued as a small business set-aside. The anticipated delivery date is 12 Oct 01. The following FAR provisions apply to this solicitation: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items; 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items; 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items; 52.212-4 Contract terms and conditions-Commercial Items and 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items. Evaluation criteria to be included in paragraph (a) of provision 52.212-2 are as follows: (i) technical capability of the item offered to meet the Government requirement; (ii) past performance and (iii) price; technical and past performance when combined are equal in importance when compared to price. The quotation, provisions and amendments will be available via the Internet World Wide Web at http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd. Firms are encouraged to access the quotation, provisions, and amendments via Internet. If you will be obtaining a copy of the quotation via Internet, it will be your responsibility to frequently check the same site where the solicitation is posted for any amendments. However, only those firms who do NOT have the capability to obtain the solicitation from Internet, may submit a written request for a diskette. Diskettes will not be sent to those firms who have Internet access. If you request a diskette of the quotation, you will receive amendments by mail, unless you notify us otherwise. Only one copy shall be sent to a corporate entity, regardless of the number of requests from one or more different geographic locations. All responsible sources may submit a quotation on/or before, October 5, 2001 by 4:30 P.M. eastern standard time.
