NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS Description: The Stennis Space Center Procurement Office intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price, purchase order to Analytical Imaging and Geophysics, LLC, 4450 Arapahoe Ave., Suite 100, Boulder, CO 80303, for a research project entitled "Validation and Application of Hyperion Imaging Spectrometry Data via Ecological Applications in Yellowstone National Park". This acquisition builds on work performed on a previous contract which dealt with science validation research on hyper-spectral image date acquired from a Hyperion instrument on NASA's Earth Observer-1 (EO-1) satellite. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Government believes only one responsible source can provide the service that will satisfy the agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for offer (RFO) for competitive offers. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 noon local time on September 26, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
