Description

NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Offers (RFO) for the construction of Standby and Mainline Roads. The work for this requirement consists of, but is not limited to the following: Provide all labor, equipment, and materials to reconstruct Standby Road and a portion of Mainline Road. Work shall include clearing and grubbing, excavation, mixing, shaping and compaction of granular material, hot bituminous pavement, reinforced concrete arch pipe, concrete curb, concrete island paving, maintenance of traffic, traffic signs and erosion control. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000 to $1,000,000, and the effort shall be completed within 150 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. (See government Note 1). The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 234110 and $27.5 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 12 Oct 2001, with an anticipated offer bid opening date of on or about 13 Nov 2001. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the RFO. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". Specifications and Drawings will only be made available from the Bid Distribution Office. Requests for copies shall be made by email to: jason.edge@ssc.nasa.gov or you may fax your request to (228) 688-1141. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. Hard copies of specifications and drawings may be obtained from the Bid Distribution office; however, the closing date for the hard copy received shall be the same as the solicitation, inclusive of any amendments, released on the Internet.
