- Marshall Space Flight Center's Alternate Access to Station Project Office will hold a Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) on October 11, 2001. The objective of this meeting is to disseminate the latest information regarding the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launch services options to the International Space Station (ISS), hereafter defined as Alternate Access to Station (AAS). All interested parties are invited to attend. Attendees are limited to no more than three representatives from any one company. For those unable to attend, teleconferencing arrangements are available. For more information regarding teleconferencing, call the contact listed below. The meeting will be held in room 4078 of the National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC)on Sparkman Drive in Huntsville, Alabama. Registration will be at the first floor entry and the meeting will begin at 9:00 A.M. CST. Participants MUST pre-register for this event at http://alternate.msfc.nasa.gov , where additional information may be found. The goal of the AAS Project is to enable industry to establish and use a commercial service for alternative access to the International Space Station. The service shall be comprised of a system capable of transporting U.S. cargo from the surface of the Earth to the ISS including launch vehicle, orbital rendezvous vehicle, and cargo vehicle. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Any questions regarding this announcement should be directed to the identified point of contact. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPOint 4.0) format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
