Description
This is an update to the synopsis posted 31 August 2001. Industry day held on 11 September was interupted and canceled due to the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentegon. Therefore, industry day is rescheduled for 3 October 2001 at the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) in Quanitico, Virginia. MCSC invites and encourages an exchange of information with industry concerning the prototype effort of the COC for the UOC Program. Participation is not a prerequisite for submitting a proposal. At this time, one (1) hour time slots are available to view the prototypes and participate in one-on-one exchanges between a contractor team and the Government team. Due to the limited time, the meetings will be set up on a first-come-first-served basis. Participation is limited to no more than ten (10) industry representatives (prime and teammates) per meeting. To set up appointment s, send email to mosqueiravj@mcsc.usmc.mil not later than close of business, 1 October 2001. No requests can be processed if received after this date due to security procedures. Identify subject as COC Prototype Communications Registration. Include name and organization of attendees. Confirmation will be sent via e-mail and will include directions and points of contact for assistance. Also due to recent events the formal RFP release date is changed. A draft RFP will be released on or about 1 October 2001. Industry day is scheduled for 3 Ocotber. Formal RFP release is scheduled for 22 October with past performance proposal information due 20 November 2001 and the remaining proposal information due 20 December 2001. Contract award is scheduled on or about 1 April 2002. It is the Government's intent to encourage exchanges of information to improve understanding of Government r equirements and increase efficiency in proposal preparation, and thereby enhance the Government's ability to obtain quality supplies and services at reasonable prices. The Government is under no obligation to award any related contract associated with this event. We will continue to post questions and answers and other draft documentation on the web page at http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/uoc.htm. The government reserves the right to modify the COC request for proposal (RFP) documentation without notice prior to final release.
