Description

NASA/MSFC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for "Rehabilitate Precision Cleaning Facility, Building 4705" This project consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to rehabilitate the precision cleaning facility located in Building 4705. The upgrade will include, but not be limited to, replacing the clean room flooring, walls, and ceiling. Provide new heating, ventilating, and air conditioning to meet clean room environment requirements, upgrade air locks, restroom, and equipment utilities. Refurbish the ultrasonic cleaner, tube cleaning console, and replace an existing vapor degreaser with an alkaline base cleaning system. Provide two new one-ton hoists for material handling and new stainless steel lighting fixtures. These upgrades will provide an updated state-of-the-art facility. All packages request must be in writing and contain the complete Company Name, Address, and Phone/Fax numbers. Request for IFB packages should be made to the below listed personnel. Safety records of the prime contractor and subcontractor will be a consideration at award time and the prime contractor must have an EXPERIENCE MODIFICATION RATING (EMR) of 1.0 or LESS AND PROOF INCLUDED WITHIN THE BID PACKAGE. THE PRIME SUBCONTRACTOR'S EMR RATING SHALL BE NO MORE THAN 1.1. REQUEST FOR IFB PACKAGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED LESS THAN TEN (10) DAYS PRIOR TO BID OPENING. AWARD OF THIS PROJECT IS CONTINGENT UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. The order of magnitude for the procurement is BETWEEN $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 365 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. [See Note 1]. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 233320 and $27.5M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about October 08,2001 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about November 08,2001. The provisions and clauses in the solicitation are those in effect through FAC 97 -27. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office. All responsible qualified sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".
