- HQ, OSC is seeking possible sources of supply, standard catalog information/brochures, prices, standard technical data, etc. for a 60 month lease with option to purchase 1 each Hauser Jig Grinding Machine, Model S55-CNC 400, or equal, including the tooling allocation package. The following are the TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: CAPACITY: Axis stroke "X", "Y" 51-2" x 31-:5" (1300 x 800 mm); Stroke length "Z", infinitely adjustable up to maximum 6.69" (170 mm);Vertical stroke of grinding head ("W") 25" (635 mm); Clearance between grinding motor (45S) and table 0 -- 29-5" (0 -- 750 mm); Radial feed range ("U") CNC controlled up to 0.22" (5.5 mm); Radial feed range ("U") manual up to 1.57" (40 mm); Clearance between columns 38.2" (970 mm); Diameter ground (with 4" diameter whee1), without extension plate maximum 9" (230 mm), with extension plate maximum 14" (360 mm); Taper grinding, included angle (divergent and convergent) maximum 16 deg. TABLE: Working surface 56.7" x 33.9" (1440 x 860 mm) ; 7 T-slots, width .55 1" (14 mm) ; Admissible load maximum 1,764 lbs (800 kg). HARDWARE: GE Fanuo 16 hardware system for 4 CNC axes; 10-4' LCD color screen; Hauser operator panel. 2. DATA LMUT: / OUTPUT: One serial interface RS-232. 3. AXIS CONFIRMATION "X", "Y", "C", "U": "XY"AXIS: Continuous path control with linear and circular interpolation, tool radius compensation and feed rate calculation along the toolpath; Direct linear measuring system, resolution 0.00 0004" (0.000 1 mm). "C" AXIS: Interpolation axis for "X", "Y". This guarantees that the "U" axis is always set perpendicular to the tangent of the workpiece contour at the point of contact of the grinding wheel; Resolution of the measuring system 0.00 1 deg; Automatic switchover between planetary motion and CNC interpolation axis via M code. "U" AXIS: Programmable feed axis for the infeed to grind various diameters; Resolution of the measuring system 0.000004" (0.0001 mm.). 4. RAPID STROKE, "Z" CONTROL: Separate control system which communicates with the Fanuc via M codes; 10 different grinding levels (upper and lower reversing point and stroke speed) to be pre-set on the operator panel -- or -- unlimited number of levels programmed within the part program; Separate LED display. Target value: 0-000 1" (0.00 1 mm). 5. OPERATING SYSTEM/ PROGRAM MEMORY: Operating system memorized on EPROM; Input / output of the machine parameters via RS-232; Program memory for 63 machining programs and 64 KB CNC data storage capacity for workpiece programming; Programs and machine parameters are protected by battery against power failure for at least 2,500 hours. 6. PROGRAMMING: ISO / DIN and Hauser user software; Absolute or incremental values; Subroutine technique and jump, functions; Mirroring on the axes "X", "Y" and "C"; Two coordinate systems (machine coordinates and workpiece coordinates); Six zero shift in workpiece coordinate systems (G54 -- G59); Conversion inch / mm; Background programming (the RS23 2 interface cannot be used); Languages to be selected over parameters: English, French arid German. 7. GRINDING CYCLE MACROS: Bore grinding cycle (planetary motion) G100; Bore Winding cycle (chop grinding) G120; Contour grinding cycle G140; Pocket grinding cycle G160; Shoulder grinding cycle (available only in combination with CNC "W" axis) G105; Calibration cycles for the grinding wheel G190 / G195; Extended tool management (diameter, length, wear). 8. MODES OF OPERATION: Machine referencing (home); Manual: axes push-buttons, electronic handwheel for all axes; Automatic: consecutive and single block; Program test with or without axes motions; Manual data input; Editing; Automatic machine switchoff when grinding unattended. MACHINE FEATURES: CNC: Dressing cycles for bore and contour grinding with compensation of the diameter reduction for dressing cylindrical grinding wheels. Graphics package, consisting of: Programming support with illustrations and parameters. Used in conjunction with the Hauser machining cycles, such as, bore grinding, contour grinding; MSS grinding wheel calibration, dressing buffer and pocket grinding; Graphic display on color screen of contours and rated bore diameter of a completcd machining program (2D)-. Rotation of the coordinate system. Rotation of the workpiece coordinate system around a center point. Smallest input unit 0.001 deg. Multiple block-skip function, with six additional skip keys on panel. MACHINE: MSS Multi-Sensoric System: 1. Function Automatic calibration of the grinding wheel; Working procedure Periodic calibration of the grinding wheel with the help of a sound sensor unit and automatic activating of a diameter compensation; Effect Allows autonomous finish grinding of bores and contours; 2. Function Automatic suppression of air grinding; Worlding procedure With the help of sound sensor units, the contact between the grinding wheel and component is monitored and allows the changeover from working speed to rapid traverse and vice versa; Effect Allows autonomous suppression of air grinding; Additional functions Acoustic and optical grinding contact indication. Ability to balance grinding wheels. EQUIPMENT CONSISTS OF: Sensoric control unit with pre-amplifier and necessary supports. Can connect up to six sensors; Unit with diamond contact plate, impact sound sensor and dressing diamond; Two impact sound sensors. CNC controlled "W" axis for automatic positioning and interpolating with "X", "Y". AC SERVO DRIVE: Machining speed 0 -- 31.49" / minute. (0 -- 800 mm / minute); Traversing speed 78.74" / minute (2,000 mm / minute); Resolution of the measuring system 0.00002" (0.0005 mm). COMPLEMENTARY FUNCTIONS: The controlled "W" axis permits the use of the G105 grinding cycle for machining bore shoulders or for expanding bores without the alternating motion, as well as any kind of feeds within the pocket grinding cycle; Tool length corrections are automatically compensated over the CNC "W" axis. Worktable adaptation for workpieces up to 3,300 lbs. (1,500 kgs). NOTE: Cost estimates are requested for budgetary purposes only.
