Description

Construction of earthen dike with water control structure for the purpose of restoring an altered wetland. Estimated quantities of the major items of work include 13,000 cubic yards compacted earthfill, 7.5 acres clearing and grubbing, one water control structure with flashboard riser and 12" diameter corrugated aluminum barrel pipe and 3.1 acres of grassing and mulching. An undetermined amount of excavation will be required for the keyway trench and outlet ditch. Performance time including a 10 day mobilization period and 7 anticipated rain days is 50 calendar days. The estimated price is in the range of $25,000 to $100,000. Bidders will not be required to submit either a bid bond or performance bond for this procurement. However, the successful bidder will be required to furnish payment security in the form of either a payment bond from a corporate surety or an irrevocable letter of credit from a federally insured bank. Bidders will not be required to possess state a bidders or contractors license. A site showing will be held beginning at 10:00 AM, October 18, 2001. Parties interested in attending the site showing are to meet in the Farm Bureau Building, Conference Room, 1002 Elm Street East (U.S. Highway 278), Hampton, SC for a brief meeting before proceeding to the work site.
