Description

Dockside repairs NOAA Ship FERREL-to be performed at the Marine Operations Center -- Atlantic, 439 West York Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510. Performance period to commence on or about November 27, 2001, and shall be completed on or before January 11, 2002 (46 calendar days). Basic contract items include Galley Upgrade; Windlass Maintenance; Watertight Door Refurbishments; Bow Thruster & Engine Room Bilge Preservation; Miscellaneous Metalwork and Welding; and others. In addition, there will be option items; Ship's Office Upgrade; Fan Coil Installations; XO and Operation's Officer Stateroom Upgrades; and Staterooms 2 & 4 bulkhead Modifications. NOAA Ship FERREL will be available for inspection on November 1, 2001, at Marine Operations Center -- Atlantic in Norfolk, VA. Characteristics of NOAA Ship FERREL: Length Overall-133 feet, 3-inches; Beam (moulded) -- 32 feet; Draft (maximum) -- 6 feet-6inches; Displacement -- 360 tons; Propulsion -- Two Caterpillar D 353 Diesel Engines, Twin Screw; Electrical Service -- Caterpillar 3306 diesel generator, 450 VAC, 200 amp, 3 phase; crew size -- 14 persons (22 bunks). All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
