- NOUN: Flameholder, afterburner; NSN: 2840-01-326-4066NZ; P/N: 4075497; QTY: 85; U/I: Each; DELIVERY: JUN02 to Tinker AFB, OK; APPLICABLE TO: F100/200/220/220E; SIZE/DIMENSIONS: 25.88 inches in diameter, 81.26 inches in circumference; PREDOMINANT MATERIAL: titanium; FORM/FIT/FUNCTION:Used to hold flame direction for augmentation. Anticipated Solicitation issue date: 23OCT01. Anticipated award date: 28FEB01. A first article will be required in accordance with criteria established in the solicitation. A firm-fixed price, fixed quantity Insurance Buy is anticipated for this requirement. As a result, a split award is possible. No telephone solicitation requests will be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved sources. Information regarding how to become an approved source will be available in the solicitation. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or Potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program manager or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor Concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
