Description
The solicitation DAAD05-01-T-0745, Demining Equipment for the Government of Poland, is amended to reflect the following changes: A. Specifications for the required demining equipment are changed to read as follows: Proposed demining equipment must be able to meet the following: FUNCTIONS: 1. Capable of detecting mines in both salt or fresh water, as well as on land. 2. Able to reduce or adjust to interference from mineralized soil or background interference. 3. Designed to detect very small metallic objects with a small amount of metal content. 4. Audio signal must be distinct. Signal must change in volume and strength as detector becomes closer to an object. 5. Audio signal must be produced when a metal object is under the center of the search head or LED t hat illuminates, indicating which side of the coil is receiving signal from the target. EQUIPMENT DESIGN: 1. Set must include: search head, pole that can be shortened or lengthened, headphone/ear piece, rugged transport case, carrying case/bag, batteries, battery recharger if rechargeable batteries are proposed, hand and armrests, instrument spare parts. 2. Set must be battery operated and capable of using rechargeable batteries (Note: Offerors do not have to propose rechargeable batteries, however, propose d unit must be able to function using them.) 3. Set must contain a battery sensor to alert users when battery is getting low. 4. Set must contain a headphone or earpiece that can be worn under headgear. 5. Set must include headphone or earpiece must have a volume control. 6. Set must be easy to assemble and prepare for use. 7. Set must have an automatic self-test checking system prior to deploying. 8. Set must have a lightweight construction, not to exceed 3.0kg. ENVIRONMENT/OPERATING CONDITIONS: 1. Operati ng temperature range: -15C to +35C minimum. 2. Operating time: 50 hours minimum. 3. Must be waterproof and sealed from humidity. OTHER: 1. Must come with operating/users manuals. 2. Must come with minimum one year manufacturer s warranty from flaws or defe cts. 3. Must include on-site instruction sufficient to train users to effectively use the equipment. B. The clause at DFARS 252.225-7027, Restriction on Contingent Fees for Foreign Military Sales, is added. C. Please disregard automatically generated respo nse date (01/01/2002) listed above. In order to post an amendment, a response date must be entered, however, deadline for receipt of proposals is extended indefinitely. A closing date/time shall be established with an additional amendment.
