- Description
- The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL-SSC) intends to negotiate a contract on the basis of Other Than Full and Open Competition IAW 10 USC 2304(c)(1). NRL will negotiate with Spectra Physics Lasers, 1330 Terra Bella Avenue, Mountain View, CA, for a femtosecond, all diode-pumped, chirped-pulsed, Titanium-Sapphire regenerative amplifier and a matched optical parametric amplifier (OPA). The Titanium-Sapphire regenerative amplifier will be used to pump the OPA. The Titanium-Sapphire regenerative amplifier should be a one-box design that contains the seed oscillator, seed oscillator pump, stretcher, compressor, and regenerative amplifier, all mounted onto a single one level base. The OPA should be in a separate enclosure. The Government requires the Titanium-Sapphire regenerative amplifier and OPA to meet the following minimum requirements: (1). Oscillator, which shall consist of: (a) Ti:Sapphire based oscillator with tunability from 750 850 nm, (b) Pumped by frequency doubled, diode pumped Neodymium-Vanadate laser, (c) No external cooling water requirements, (d) > 600 mW [800 nm, 82 MHz] quasi-CW seed beam light output available from separate output port. (2). Regenerative Amplifier which shall consist of: (a) Integrated one-box design that needs to fit in an area of less than 2- ft by 3- ft, (b) Pumped by frequency-doubled, diode-pumped Nd:YLF laser, (c) No external cooling water requirements, operates on 110V single phase, (d) 1 mJ pulse energy, (e) fixed wavelength between 780 820 nm, (f) < 130 fs pulse width, (g) Single shot to 5 kHz operation, (h) All reflective stretcher, (i) compressor design, (j) < 1% RMS energy stability, (k) Pre-pulse extinction ratio > 1000:1, (l) Post-pulse extinction ratio > 100:1. (3) Optical Parametric Amplifier (OPA), which shall consist of: (a) Tuning range from 1.1mm to 3.0mm, (b) Upgradeable to 3.0mm to 10mm, (c) < 130 fs pulse width, (d) White-light continuum seeded, (e) < 3% pulse to pulse energy stability. (4). The following laser outputs are required from the required system: (a) 82 MHz, 80 fs, 750 mW, 750 850 nm, (b) 1 kHz, <130 fs, 1 W, 780 820 nm, (c) 1 kHz, <130 fs, 1.1 3.0 m with optional expandability to 1.1 10 m. (5) manuals for operation and maintenance of the system and all component parts. (6) Warranty in accordance with standard commercial practices, and shall cover all parts and labor. Vendors who feel that they can provide the above item(s) shall fully identify their interest and submit their capabilities to meet the above requirements within 15 days after the publication of this synopsis. Responses received after 15 days or without the required information will be considered to be non-responsive to the synopsis and not be considered. No telephone requests will be accepted in response to this notification. Only written information received directly from requestors will be considered. All questions should be directed to Mr. Jerry Riles, Contract Specialist, at (228)688-4259, or via E-mail at: jriles@nrlssc.navy.mil. Requests should be sent to Naval Research Laboratory-SSC, Attn: Code 3235:JR, Stennis Space Center, MS 39529-5004. Numbered Note 22 is applicable.
