Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC) is releasing a Request of Information (RFI) for potential flight test proposals for the second Generation Reusable Launch Vehicle risk reduction program, also known as Gen2, Cycle2. These proposals would utilize DFRC's unique flight test, flight research and simulation facilities to develop, test and demonstrate critical risk reduction technologies essential to the next generation of reusable launch vehicles. It is expected that activities in the FY 2001 to 2006 timeframe will be directed towards technical and business risk reduction areas where government and commercial launch needs coverge. It is anticipated that by mid-decade, at least two competing architectures will go forward into full-scale development and could be operational early next decade. All vendors interested in using DFRC's unique flight test operations, research and simulation capabilities should make contact as soon as possible.
