- Description
- NASA/MSFC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB)for "Rehab Interior, Office and Laboratory Building (4487-A, East End)" PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to renovate the interior of the first and second floors of the east end of Building 4487 at Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL. The renovation includes asbestos abatement in all areas of work; demolition of interior walls and ceilings; removal of finish flooring including raised flooring; demolition of mechanical and electrical building components; and subsequent construction of a new layout including walls, floors, ceilings, doors, finishes, and all associated mechanical and electrical work. Plumbing work will include, but is not limited to, demolition of shop air and high-pressure air. Fire suppression work will include demolition of existing sprinkler piping and heads and providing a new sprinkler system. All package request must be in writing and contain the complete Company Name, Address, and Phone/Fax numbers. Request for IFB packages should be made to the the below listed personnel. Safety records of the prime contractor and subcontractor will be a consideration at award time and the prime contractor must have an EXPERIENCE MODIFICATION RATING (EMR) of 1.0 or LESS AND PROOF INCLUDED WITHIN THE BID PACKAGE. THE PRIME SUBCONTRACTOR'S EMR RATING SHALL BE NO MORE THAN 1.1. REQUEST FOR IFB PACKAGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED LESS THAN TEN (10) DAYS PRIOR TO BID OPENING. AWARD OF THIS PROJECT IS CONTINGENT UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 365 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. [See Note 1]. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 23330 and $27.5M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about October 18, 2001 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about November 20, 2001. The provisions and clauses in the solicitation are those in effect through FAC 97 -- 27. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office. All responsible qualified sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".
