Description

The U.S. Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office, intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the transportation of foreign spent nuclear fuel approximately October 31, 2001. This procurement is for all the necessary services required to prepare, package, load, and transport spent nuclear fuel from foreign countries to the United States with destination of either the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina or the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The anticipated contract type is a Task Order Contract with firm-fixed price and/or cost-plus-fixed-fee tasks for a period of performance of five years with the option to extend an additional two years. The RFP will be issued on or about October 31, 2001, with proposals due on or about January 4, 2002.
