Description

This is a sole-source combined solicitation/synopsis for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 and supplemented with the information contained herein. No separate solicitation will be issued for this requirement. The government anticipates award on a sole-source basis a contract to Bell and Howell corporation for onsite maintenance effective 10-1-01 through 9-30-02. Bell and Howell is the incumbent contractor and the only known source of certified maintenance support for the 4 MailMobiles, Item Number 43650 located at the performance address. Replacement parts are only available from the equipment manufacturer. Contract maintenance covers full onsite service and repair according to OEM specifications, 24 hour response to emergency calls and all parts, labor and travel. Solicitation provisions are those in effect through FAC 97-27. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 811219 and the size standard is $18.0 million. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors- Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its offer. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
