Description
The International Boundary and Water Commission, United States Section, requires the furnishing of labor, materials, equipment and expertise for soil voids mitigation at Smuggler's Gulch Pump Station, San Ysidro, San Diego County, California. This project requires the injection of compaction grouting to mitigate the possible settlement of loose soils and to reduce the potential for damage to buried piping and other structures at the Smuggler's Gulch Pump Station. The pump station is located at 2812 Hollister Street in San Diego County and pumps wastewater from Tijuana Mexico to the South Bay International Wastewater Treatment Plant (SBIWTP). The pump station was constructed between 1997 and 1998, and Cone Penetrometer Tests indicate that loose material and possibly soil voids are present in the area of construction around the pump station building. The loose soil zones have been determined to exist at a depth of 10 to 20 feet below grade and 5 feet to each side of where temporary shoring during construction was used. Tentative dates for issuing and closing IFB 02-01 are November 6, 2001 and December 18, 2001 respectively. The work under this contract is to be completed in 40 calendar days from the date of issuance of Notice to Proceed. The estimated price range for the repairs is between $100,000 and $250,000. Plans and specifications will be available for inspection, without charge, at the International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Section, The Commons, Building C, Suite 224, 4171 North Mesa Street, El Paso, Texas 79902-1441. Copies of the bid package are available at no charge. All requests for bid documents must be in writing; no telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. Requests for IFB 02-01 must be sent to the attention of Ms. Irma Gurrola at the preceding address. Requests must include business name, point of contact, address, telephone number (include area code), and IFB number. Offers are solicited from small business concerns. Offers received from businesses that are not small business concerns will not be considered. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 234990 for All Other Heavy Construction. The associated small business size standard is $27.5 million dollars in annual average gross receipts for the past three years.
