Description

Sources sought for Architect/Engineer (A/E) consulting firm to provide all investigation, design surveys, verification of as-built conditions, construction drawings, cost estimates, phasing and estimated construction time required for a fully developed set of construction documents for renovation of the 9th floor, Quadrant G. The objective of this project will be to provide for the total demolition and rebuild of the 9G161, 9G162, 9G162A and 9G163. It is comprised of approximately 4000 gross square feet of space. The area will be reconstructed to house the Physical Rehabilitation Unit located on the 10th floor, Quadrant G. Patient Privacy will be given utmost consideration in the design layout. All new mechanical, plumbing, electrical, telecommunication equipment and distribution systems will be provided to modernize and improve the infrastructure supporting the floor's environment of care. The A/E will be required to provide construction documents that will require the project to be phased to accomodate space limitations at the medical center. The A/E design firm will be comprised of at least the services of a licensed mechanical engineer, licensed electrical engineer, certified industrial hygenist, interior designer, and licensed architect lead. All designs shall meet applicable national codes and VA design criteria. Drawings shall be provided in AutoCAD version 13. After completion of the project construction, correct the complete set of reproducible plans and the AutoCAD diskettes showing any changes from original design. The North American Industry Classification System Size Standard Code is 541310, Architectural Services, $4.0 million dollars. Standard Form (SF) 254's and 255's, including each sub-consultants' current SF254 will be accepted from responsible firms within a 100 mile radius of the New Orleans metropolitan area until close of business on November 9, 2001. Faxed copies of the SF254 and SF255 will not be accepted. The radius will be determined by the address on the SF254. Travel funds are not authorized. It is the intent of this agency to interview a maximum of five A/E firms. Subject to the availability of funds. The construction range is between $100,000 and $250,000.
