Description
DESC: The National park Service intends to issue a Prospectus for renewal of a concession contract to provide boat transportation for visitors from the east shore of Jenny Lake to the west shore and back. Scenic cruises of Jenny Lake, boat rentals, sale of bait and limited vending are additional authorized services. The season is generally from early June through Labor Day. Hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. The existing concessioner uses four tour boats with passenger capacities of 22, 27, 29 & 30 respectively. The smallest capacity boat is used for cruises. Rental boats are limited to no more than seven 14' boats with maximum 10 hp motors. Any Offeror that is selected as the new concessioner is not obliged to purchase any personal property (equipment and supplies) utilized by the existing concessioner in its operations. The existing concession permit between the National Park Service and the existing concessioner expires by limitation of time on December 31, 2001. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing concessioner is not a preferred Offeror for this contract. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received in the Business Resources Division (IMR-CM), National Park Service, Intermountain Region, P. O. Box 25287, Denver, CO 80225-0287 (Federal Express address: 12795 W. Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80228, no later than sixty (60) days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract to provide boat transportation, scenic tours of Jenny Lake, boat rentals, sale of bait and limited vending services. EFFECTIVE DATE: The Prospectus will be issued for a 60 day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposal due on December 10, 2001, no later than 4:00 p.m. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $35 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $30 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package.
