Description

The US Army CECOM intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price order to J. A. Optics, Inc. Utica, NY for the fabrication of an imaging lens test apparatus suitable for performing laboratory experiments which investigate the use of optical plastic materials in typical image intensifier goggle objective lens assemblies. The desired optical design prescription design has been made and only fabrication, assembly, and delivery of the items are being procured. The design is such that a cubic block of either BK7 optical glass, acrylic, or polyolefin plastic may be interchanged within the objective housing. This feature is necessary such that a single assembly may be used for measurements through the various materials. The period of performance will be approximately four (4) months.
