- Description
- The Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (DHHS, HRSA) solicits proposals from organizations with the capability to examine the public health workforce. This proposed contract will support national and state efforts to improve access to care through more consistent and increased efforts to prevent the occurrence of, or to minimize the effects of, any public health care workforce shortages. The contractor shall define: 1) workforce use issues surrounding this population, 2) the public health workforce infrastructure, 3) who and what constitutes the public health workforce, and 4) study the supply and demand for public health physicians, dentists and nurses. Tasks include: (A) introductory meeting, (B) monthly reports, (C) conference calls, (D) research plan, (E) describe the public health system, (F) case studies, (G) site visits, (H) summary report. To succeed, the contractor must: 1) maintain a strong academic base and extensive expertise both in health workforce analysis and projection of health workforce supply and requirements; 2) exhibit a working knowledge of relevant state agencies and organizations and; 3) demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the government's philosophy, goals, strategies, measures of success, and expectations. The government intends to let a firm fixed-price contract with a 12-month period of performance. The government estimates that the contractor will require approximately two full-time employees to accomplish the services; the actual effort may vary from this estimate as a result of negotiations.
