- Description
- The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking a contractor for administration of their child care subsidy program. The contractor shall be responsible for receiving applications from Department of Labor employees who have children in child care and wish to receive a subsidy and determine whether the employee meets the requirements for a subsidy based on income, nature of appointment, age of child/children, bargaining unit status, and whether child care provider meets licensing requirements. The contractor shall notify the employee of whether he or she qualifies for a subsidy and, if so, determine the amount of subsidy based on income and child care costs. The contractor shall make payments from Department of Labor allocated funds directly to the child care providers, using monthly invoice forms that they will supply to the providers. The contractor shall maintain a database of all subsidy applicants and provide reports to the Department monthly, quarterly and annually. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. All interested parties who believe they meet this requirement are invited to submit in writing, within 30 days of this publication of this notice, information describing their ability to provide these services. Vendors interested in performing this project must submit a Statement of Qualifications/Capabilities Statement which identifies the vendors experience in the performance of services the same or similar to the one to be performed. THE STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE PROVIDED IN TRIPLICATE, AND TRANSMITTED UNDER A COVER LETTER. The cover letter must cite the number of this sources sought (RFI T.N. 02-06), and it must state whether the respondent is a large, small or 8(a) business concern. Respondents that are small business concerns must also state whether they are small disadvantaged business and/or small woman-owned businesses. The closing date for the receipt of responses is November 16, 2001, BY 3 p.m., EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Please submit all responses to Julie Lawrence at the U.S. Department of Labor, Procurement Services Center, Room N-5416, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20210. The Government reserves the right to compete any acquisition resulting from this survey among small businesses or to make award to an 8(a) firm, based on the responses received. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not commit the Government to pay for the information requested, issue a solicitation, or award a contract. No technical or solicitation documents exist at this time. All firms/organizations that submit responses will be included in the distribution of any subsequent solicitation.
