Description

(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Award will be made on the basis of price alone. (ii) The Directorate of Contracting, Fort Carson, Colorado has a requirement for the following: Snowshoes with gray frames, white webbing and black decking; spring loaded binding system; 4-point cleat connection for support climbing and traversing; double layer under heel strike sandwiching heel cleat to eliminate snow buildup; ratcheting buckle binding system packs flat to accommodate larger boot sizes; 7/8 " OD x .0049 wall 6000 series aluminum; tubing; Tig Welded Tail joint; and snowshoe cleat system with toe, heal, and side rails. A standard commercial warranty is required. No substitutions are authorized; equipment has been tested and is required for cold weather military missions. This requirement is subject to the availability of FY 02 funds.
