- Description
- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to enter into negotiations with Storage Technology Corporation, 1594 Enon Road, Oxford, NC 27565 for the installation of FM200 gas fire suppression equipment in each silo located in the NHEERL Building and the new National Computer Center. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334112, and the Small Business size is 1,000 personnel. The agency's requirement is for the for the installation of an FM200 gas fire suppression equipment in each silo located in the NHEERL Building and the new National Computer Center. The STK tape silo products are large scale data proprietary components, and proprietary software. The installation of FM200 gas fire suppression equipment requires proprietary service manuals, diagnostic tools, and training. STK, Inc. has exclusive copyrights, patents, and/or trade secret ownership, and parts needed to install and maintain the FM200 gas fire suppression system. EPA believes Storage Technology Corporation is the only vendor capable of satisfying the installation requirements stated above. FAR 6.302-1 states: "only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements". No solicitation is available. All interested parties must respond within 15 days of the date of this announcement. Interested parties who can meet the above requirements shall submit: 1) information on the proposed services which clearly supports the requirements outlined above and; 2) provide itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible.
