Description

Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to provide services for routine and emergency maintenance for NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) transmitters and control sites at five locations in North Carolina. The proposed contract is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Maintenance will be required on narrow-band, VHF-FM transmitting equipment (100-1000 watts) on one of seven frequencies, ranging from 162.400 to 162.550 MHZ. NWR broadcasts are tailored to weather information needs of people within the receiving area (approximately 40 miles) and are transmitted 24 hours a day. Contractor shall furnish all normal hand tools and fundamental test equipment used in the maintenance of VHF-FM transmitting equipment. Specialized test equipment may be furnished by the National Weather Service on an as-needed basis. The period of performance shall be from January 1, 2002 through September 30, 2002 with four one-year option periods. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Copies of the solicitation will only be provided in response to written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor. Telephone requests will not be honored.
