Description

Notice of availability of a prospectus for the award of a concession contract authorizing guided horseback riding stables, drink vending, and limited souvenir sales located in the Deep Creek area for the visiting public of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a period of five years. The approximate visitation on the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 2000 was 10,175,816. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR, Part 51 has determined that this is a qualified concession contract, based on the fact that the business is estimated to result in annual gross receipts of less than $500,000 in the first 12 months of its term. A preferred offeror for this contract exists. However, all interested parties may apply and all responsive proposals will be considered. Offers must be received by close of business December 26, 2001. There will an administrative charge to recoup printing costs for this prospectus of $30 plus a $5 mailing fee for each prospectus. Make checks payable to the National Park Service. Include a business address (no post office box) to receive the package via Federal Express. All requests for prospectuses should be made in writing to Henry C.
