Description

The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of Tungsten Rod (93 percent W-Ni-Co, +/- 0.001 tolerance, 190 KSI UTS min at 10 percent elongation) in the following sizes and quantities: (1) 5mm x 220mm, 15 each; (2)6mm x 220mm, 15 each; (3)7mm x 220mm, 15 each; Tungsten Rod (93 percent W-Ni-Co, + 0.050 t olerance, 190 KSI UTS min at 10 percent elongation) (4) 10mm x 300mm, 30 each; DU Rod (M829A2 material, +/- 0.001 tolerance) in the following sizes and quantities: (5) 5mm x 220mm, 15 each; (6) 6mm x 220mm, 15 each; (7) 7mm x 220mm, 15 each. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). ARL intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 with Aerojet Ordnance, Jonesborough, TN, in order to maintain test result c ontinuity with previously purchased materials. Interested firms have 20 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing via FAX 410-278-6522 to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabi lities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 20 days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis and wi ll not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government reserves the right to award without discussions. Telephonic communications will not be accepted in response to this notice. See numbered Notes 22 and 89*****
