Description
The AN/TSQ-179 Common Ground Station (CGS) integrates secondary imagery and other intelligence processing into a single ground station, resulting in enhanced Battle Management capability. In all, the CGS receives data from over a dozen sensors and dissemi nates this information via standard communication links. CGS is also fully integrated into the Army's Digital Tactical Operations Center (TOC) and can pass graphical representations of this data to other C4I modes. It is a Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) based system, providing expandable, open systems architecture that is fully compliant with the Joint Technical Architecture (JTA). The Government has a contract (DAAB07-00-C-L006) with Motorola, Inc., Integrated Information Systems Group, 8201 East McDow ell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85252-1417 to acquire retrofit/upgrade of fifty-five (55) AN/TSQ-179 CGS Version 1 to a CGS Version 2 configuration with the last eight (8) via a contract option. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 17 and Army Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement Part 5106, the Government is conducting market research in order to determine if there are additional sources for retrofit/upgrade of eight (8) CGS. The Government does not own drawings and production specificatio ns to permit full and open competition. In addition, the Government has fielding requirements for retrofit/upgrade of these eight CGS units no later than December 2002.
