Description

This project is entitled "Therapeutic Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine Trial in Women Infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)". The purpose of this project is to complete a phase I/ II clinical trial of a candidate therapeutic HPV vaccine in HIV-infected women. The HPV vaccine should have potential to prevent persistence of HPV-16 and/or HPV-18 expression in cervicovaginal secretions and development of cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions (SIL) in this population. The contractor will be required to determine (1) the safety, (2) cell-mediated immune response in peripheral blood, and (3) potential for clinical efficacy of the vaccine candidate. The total performance period under the contract is 60 months from date of contract award. The associated NAICS code is 541710 and the small business size standard is 500 employees.
